    • Responsible for 60 employees and 5 subdivisions under misdemeanor

    TRAIN PERSONNEL AND ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEYS IN THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE:

    • Provide competent staff and investigators to assist the Assistant District Attorneys in handling their caseloads
    • Provide trial mentors for the Assistant District Attorneys to ensure they have the trial knowledge and expertise necessary to try difficult cases
    • Give Assistant District Attorneys the ability and authority to make decisions on their cases without asking for permission from the Chief of Trials to make each and every decision on a case

    REFORM THE SCREENING PROCESS TO AID ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEYS:

    • Implement reforms to the screening process, so cases are assigned to Assistant District Attorneys and their investigators from day one, thus giving them a more comprehensive understanding of their cases

    REVAMP THE DIVERSION PROGRAM TO BE MORE INCLUSIVE:

    • Cut the overall cost of the Diversion Program so that ALL citizens have the opportunity to participate regardless of their ability to pay

    ESTABLISH AN INTERNAL AFFAIRS DIVISION OF THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE:

    • Start an Internal Affairs Division which will accept and address complaints and concerns of the community, pertaining to treatment by the District Attorney’s Office, so our citizens can be heard
